India looked good for once in their win over Bermuda (who wouldn't). The West Indies didn't look very convincing in their win against Zimbabwe. So far it looks like we can say that West Indies and Ireland are through to the next round and India's fate awaits their game against Sri Lanka.
Assuming South Africa win tomorrow it means the games Katy and I will see in Grenada will be as follows:
South Africa vs Ireland.
Sri Lanka vs New Zealand.
South Africa vs New Zealand.
We would have seen SA vs West Indies but Ireland's win over Pakistan pushes West Indies into a different stream that we will not get to see.
As part of our public service here on the Robinson World Cup blog we like to keep our readers informed as well as entertained so today we are starting a new series called Know Your Cricket.
1. Golden Duck: A batsman goes out on his first ball for 0 runs. The term duck is used because the 0 looks like a duck's egg.
2. Flipper: A ball bowled by a spin bowler that has backspin. The ball travels slower and further than a normal delivery thus fooling the batsman.
3. Dot ball: A delivery bowled without any runs scored off it, so called because it is recorded in the score book with a single dot.
4.

Indeed! Well done to Katy. It really is close and picking just the right player can push someone through the rest of the field very quickly. So today will be really interesting. More date cookies for anyone who wants to try some Canadian players! Didn't the West Indies make a meal of beating Zimbabwe yesterday? I think that the Pakistan match tomorrow will be a very emotional affair - hard to say what the result will be but I think they will make a huge effort to win that one.
But, If South Africa beat Australia won't you see Australia instead of South Africa?
Anyway off to a hard day of watching cricket.
The A1 and A2 etc for the super 8 round are based on the original seedings , not where the team finished in the group. Since Australia was seeded 1 and South Africa 5 for the cup South Africa will be A2 in the super 8 round even if they win their group. Very confusing.
Hey, how did lynda change her name?? Lyndas Lads are gone, enter the Knights hwo sya "icky, icky, patwanga"
Michael, Michael, Michael. You're the expert and before long you'll be in last place. Get ahold of your team.
Kudos to you Katherine for being in first.
Michael brought over a disk he had of the cricket match of the century. I watched all 7 hours of it! All I can say about cricket is a quote from David Lettermans top 10, "I sat there so long I couldn't tell where my ass ended and the couch began".
I'm happy being in the middle of the pack for now. But watch out!
