South Africa crash and burn.

Oh well, so South Africa didn't come to play. This isn't the first time and it probably will not be the last. I really hope the final is a somewhat more exciting game. At this point in the game I'm sure everyone has very similar teams and so everyone's worms had a similar climb. The notables are Missy and Catherine who have closed in slightly on their nearest rivals. Henry is also getting close to kicking my butt.

It is going to be very interesting to see the final outcome of the Robinson World Cup. The final blog entry will be after the game on Saturday. I hope everyone has had a lot of fun. I have really enjoyed it, I think it has been a great way to quickly and easily make fun of multiple family members. After this I'll have to go back to making fun of Katy on her own.

Ciao,
Michael

Moira, I honestly think I have a shot at first, (Paul is laughing),but I know I'll need all the help I can get.
If you'll root for me I'll gladly give you the shirt or ball, but the hat stays in California. So maybe a 2/3rds root. You deserve something for keeping us all out of last place the entire contest.
So what do you say?

Wait a minute now, should your secret strategy come through and you overcome Paul.........you will only earn 1 prize. You can't be promising all of them to Moira like that. And Moira, you shouldn't be so quick to sell your soul.....there is a prize I like to call the "sweaty golden duck award". I think you're in the running for that one!

Well, Katy, strong ties for the future will not go well if you are intent on beating the M-in-L. That sort of gung-ho approach will only serve to make M-in-L nervous. So leave me up there where I belong, please. Have you thought of putting in a final Canadian player just to be nice to your neighbours?

And about the rivalry for balls, caps and shirts. As one of my pupils said to me yesterday 'It is always the top ones and the bottom ones who get all the attention and those of us in the middle just get ignored!'. So come on, us middle ones, let's put our minds to getting to the top or bottom. A sweaty award could be your prize.

Missy, I'd be honoured to give you a 2/3 root. The nephew is young enough to be able to do without my help (sorry, Paul, you'll understand when you reach my geriatric stage; besides, how else can I secretly motivate you to take the blue ribbon in this thing?). Phew, this diplomacy thing is more difficult than rooting for South Africa.

And, Katy, thank you for your sweaty thoughts on my behalf. I know very few nieces-in-law who would go to such lengths.

A word to the wise, though - do the pacifying thing with the MiL. It'll stand you in good stead during the Tiddlywinks World Cup.

Oh? We're not doing this again for the Tiddlywinks World Cup? Pity.

Thanks Moira for your support.
May the best young person or old lady win!

Now that the final is just about on us I was worried that there may still be some among us who do not know how the game of kricket is played. In concern for those people, (if any ) I have decided to give a comprehensive rundown of how it is done:
You have two sides one out in the field and one in.
Each man that's in the side that's in goes out and when he's out he comes in and the next man goes in until he's out.
When they are all out the side that's out comes in and the side that's been in goes out and tries to get those coming in out.
Sometimes you get men still in and not out.
When both side have been in and out including the not outs
Thatsthe end of the game
HOWZAT!!!
Now that everyone has a clear understanding of the game I am sure you will all enjoy the final so much more.

Good luck all! Enjoy the game and may the best man, woman or granny win. Don't worry, Bob, the agony is nearly over. Ooh, Aus to bat...
